Q.  How do I order web hosting?
A.  You can securely place your order online using our automated order system by clicking on a "Web Hosting" navigation button then choose the plan that you would like to purchase and click on the plan "Order Online" or "Order Manually" buttons at the top or the bottom of the table.

Q.  How do I pay for web hosting?

A.  You can securely pay online through PayPal using Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discovery Card. You may also mail in a cheque or money-order. Please Note: Services will not start until payment is received.

Q.  I need SSL (Secure Certificate). How do I get one?

A.   First you or your client needs a Unique IP Address which will cost you $39.99 CAD ($30.99 USD) per year. You can buy the SSL from us and we will put it on your client's account. After that, all he/she needs a Secure Certificate. There are many secure certificate providers around. One of the most affordable ones is Instant SSL but we recommend you look around in search engines for secure certificates to get a feeling for what is available and you know your options. We or you can also contact them and purchase a secure certificate from this site.

Before we order the Secure Certifcate we need to create a CSR key to provide to the InstantSSL or Secure Certificate seller at time of purchase. After purchase InstantSSL or the Secure Certificate seller will provide a Secure Key to us and then we can install it on the account requesting SSL. Then anyone can access the site using https://. Please Note: there is different between SSL for domain.com and www.domain.com. For better service and support we can create a subdomain (i.e. http:// subdomain.yourdomain.com ) for the user and order the SSL for that subdomain. Usually "secure" is the best option. So the secure site will be https://secure.yourdomain.com.

Q.  What currencies can I pay in?
A.   All fees are in Canadian dollars. However, we do accept payment in both US (USD) and Canadian (CAD) dollars. Please contact about paying in any other world currency (i.e. Euro).
Q. Are there any hidden charges I should know about?
A. There are no hidden charges! You only need to register a domain name with Doteasy to receive our bannerless free hosting service. You only need to keep paying your domain annual fees to continue receiving this service

If you have existing domain name, it can also be hosted by Doteasy however it is subject to a $35.00 transfer hosting fee. The $35.00 transfer hosting fee is waivable. Please see our transfer fee waiver offer details.

Q.  Do you offer credit facilities?

A.  No. Under normal circumstances all products & services must be paid for at the time of purchase. Services vary per amount. Some services only require downpayment. Exceptions may be made for larger customers, please contact us to discuss this.

Q.  How do I get a Service Level Agreement with my web hosting account?

A.  Service Level Agreements (SLAs) automatically come with all web hosting accounts (click here to visit the SLA page for more info).
Q.  Is there a limit on the refunds I receive for hosting?
A. Yes, it depends on if you have a customized account or it depends on the service levels stipulated in your SLA contract.

Q.  How do refunds / credits for hosting accounts work?

A.  Refunds are considered credits. Credits are not refundable and can be used only towards future billing charges (i.e. % off within 2-3 web hosting billing cylces).

Q.  What is the deadline to request a refund / credit for hosting?

A.  A request for a refund must be submitted within seven (7) days of a service interruption.

Q.   What is a "Domain Name"?

A.  A "URL", "Internet Domain Name", Server Address or "Web Address" is your unique identity address on the Internet. A domain name takes the form of a string of characters, followed by a period or "dot" and then by another string of characters, usually com, net, ca, us, or org. The last set of characters is referred to as the Top Level Domain, or "TLD". Your domain name is referred to technically as a Second Level Domain, or "SLD". Some commonly known domain names are msn.com and canada.com.

Q.  What is a "Parked Domain"?

A.  A parked domain is a registered domain that can be configured to show the same web site. Email can also be configured for parked domains even if your web site is not active. If you register a domain name before you have an active web site, you must "park" your domain in order to utilize domain forwarding or the associated domain name email accounts. Nanaimo Web Hosting can register, set-up your email hosting, and automatically "park" all domain names on your behalf.

Q.  What is an "Addon Domain"?

A.  An addon domain can be hosted under the same account / primary domain name. It can be configured as a sub-domain to your primary domain name. Nanaimo Web Hosting offers free sub-domains on all web hosting packages.

Q.  What is the difference between a Parked Domain and Addon Domain?

A.  An addon domain can be used as a secondary (sub) domain and have files associated with it and a parked domain can only be used to redirect to a primary domain name. A parked domain cannot host active web site files - only email hosting can be configured for parked domains.

Q.   Why should I renew my country specific domain name registration far ahead of its expiration date?

A.   There are no grace or redemption periods available for co.uk, .org.uk, .me.uk, .de, .be, .at, .co.nz, .net.nz, .org.nz, or .mx country specific extensions. FAILURE TO RENEW SERVICES BEFORE THE DATES LISTED BELOW WILL RESULT IN A 14 DAY INTERRUPTION IN SERVICE BEFORE YOUR SERVICES EXPIRE, AFTER WHICH YOU MAY LOSE YOUR COUNTRY SPECIFIC DOMAIN NAME. Nanaimo Web Hosting waives all liability in the loss of domain name registrations due to failure (by customer) to give notice to renew customer domain services.
